I feel like orphan not being able to get pre-approval for Credit One bank. I have 5 COs repoting. Tons of lates. My scores are meager low 600s. What is wrong with this picture. Whey they do not pre-approve me? I would think I am a perfect candidate for them make money out of me with fees and interest. I feel sad. They are hurting my feelings. ( I am only joking when I am making these statements. I still do not understand why they do not pre-approve me).

Re: Why is it so difficult to get pre-approval from Credit One

I used to use Credit One for a free score... Think if you were over 740-750 it was a flat out denial on the preapprovals.. they know you wouldnt be a profitable customer for nonsense fees and such... till one day they actually offered me a card and I panicked.. and got spammed for months later... but it was actually a very interesting offer if i recall correctly... something like a decent rate, grace period, and no fee .. Something i hadnt seen in the past from them....

On another note.. prequalifying then apping for another card? how many cards do you have already.. the only thing that is going to help is *TIME* if youve paid off or settled on those COs.... Could try some GWs but... Seems every time i look on here your trying for another card or product, and don't really care about the quality or need for it.. Gonna repeat it again.. Credit is a marathon, not a sprint.... whats the rush... untill some time has passed and your scores have gone up and the baddies have lessened their damage, you will keep getting the same results, unless you want more fees for little to no gain.... Pretty sure you do NOT NEED any more cards at this time.....

Theres also this thing called credit seeking behavior with trying for too much stuff in a short period of time... Even with the reduction in COs...  Even with good/excellent credit, especially now, you have to space apps out a bit...  Yes you have progress but you are going to have to hold tight for the fruits of your labor....

Theres another thing thats currently happening, which is a pandemic, and quite a few creditors are moving the goalposts and tightening their approval standards, so things that one could have probably gotten away with even earlier this year, don't fly with them, and can lead to lower CLs and/or a flat out denial....
