Why oh why did you do that?

My HSBC card expires at the end of November. They claimed to have mailed out new card on 10/21. I didn't receive it so I called. They took it upon themselves to close the existing account # which is still valid until the end of the month.Without telling me they re issued me a new card #. The only way I found out was by trying to log in.

 

I called and spoke to an english speaking supervisor who is suppose to "Expedite" me a new card with the new # in 3-5 business days,:smileymad: and in 7-10 days I should receive another card. Point being, I would have tried to use the card ( probably not) and it would have been denied.

HSBC will also list the old account as lost/stolen on your reports. I hate that they don't just change the information over to the new number.
