Why two pulls for HSBC?

I applied online for HSBC card, got an instant approval of $2k, they said they'd email me so far none, but in any case approved.

Inquiry for HSBC showed up on my Equifax the next day.

Today I got a TrueCredit alert about an inquiry today for HouseHold Credit, which as far as I know is the same thing. Why would they pull twice and can they?

Also applied for Hooters (showed up the next day as TU Inquiry, 7-10 day pending) and WAMU and BOA both of which declined me and never showed up as hards (4 days ago).

Any idea what is going on?

No, got the alert for the HSBC pull. Plus the pull is listed as 2/11 (Household Bank) vs the 2/08 (HSBC)

Re: Why two pulls for HSBC?

Do you know which CRA the TrueCredit Household Bank inq was on? It's quite possible that it's the same inq, and that TC just called it Household instead of HSBC.

When you pull your TC reports next time, check to see if the new inq is on EQ. If so, it's the same one, so no problem.
