Not that i have a bk from 6yrs ago but wondering why everyone needs an Amex when there are so many good lenders out there like GE,Chase,BOA
Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry. Everyone has their favorite flavors. Some just have better luck than others when it comes to lenders. I don't have an AMEX, but must admit, I do want one!
Flexible spending limit that doesn't count against utilization... perfect for reimbursed expenses.
Why did I want an Amex?
Backdating to 2000!!!

You can chalk it up to the fact that everyone just has their own personal preferences/experiences.
I have the Amex Clear which is just a flat 1% rewards, but I love them for the top-notch customer service. I've never disputed a charge with any other CC company so I can't compare, but the one time I needed to do so with Amex, it was completely hassle-free.
Long story short, I bought a TV on ebay for $1k, never received it, <5 min call to Amex explaining what happened, was issued a temporary credit for the full purchase price while they conducted their investigation, 1-2 weeks later was informed the credit was permanent and investigation resolved in my favor. I don't think it can get much easier than that.
Amex will get my business especially for large purchases moving forward.

Really Bro? 15 minutes before you started this thread you were hating on AMEX here http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/American-express-be-afraid-be-very-afraid/m-p/1850569#M514940

Well said. Everyone has a certain use for a card that they have and if they no longer have use...they get rid of it. Some people can get in with certain banks while getting denied from others. I know of a few people (including myself) that have had medicore customer service from certain banks (Bank of America comes to mind as even their CEO said it wasn't that good) but I don't go out of my way to bash them because others use them or want them. If anything I just state my experience with them and wish them better luck. It is true that some banks that I do business with have medicore customer service but my experience with them has been good. So it truly is a YMMV situation.
I charge around $30-$50,000 a month on my Amex Business card with 10 AU's. There is no other Visa or Mastercard that will grant me the kind of spending I may need(>$100,00 per month) that I can think of and be flexible to 3X that amount if I need it. The best thing about AMEX business cards is that the DO NOT appear on my personal reports, which they shouldn't anyway because my company is incorporated. AMEX has worked perfectly for me.

Why do you like these lenders?
