Ok so bk7 discharged 8/14/2019. Question is why do I never get mailers? Even before the BK7? Is it because I've always had high inquiries? I've never ever gotten mailers from any companies. My grandma gets them constantly from Amex Wells Fargo capital one and so does the rest of my family. Once my scores improve and my inquiries drop off and return to normal inquiry levels will I start getting them?
It's possible as long as you didn't opt out, but it doesn't really matter. While it feels good to get them, most are done by 3rd parties hired by the lender. Almost none have actually pre-qualified or pre-approved you. It's better to just find cards you'll use and set up a plan to get them.
Did you opt out?
Thanks. I don't plan to get another card for a long time but it just makes me wonder why I've never gotten actual mailers even when I had stellar credit.
It's too soon, and with your inquiries, it's going to be a while.
Stop applying and let the time do its thing.
I got 4/5 of my cards pre-approved. One I applied for was an HP.

Careful what you wish for, you just might get it OP!
Most mailers carry no weight as Brian said. Though I will also say that sometimes it's warm and cozy to get them. I may even say that if you feel it's becoming a bit bothering maybe opt out purposely for less credit seeking "noise" while you rebuild? Good luck!

This isn't a great idea. I know it seems counter-intuitive, but you NEED to get a couple or so cards under your belt over the next year or so in order to build your credit back up. ANd one way or another, you will need your credit again eventually.
As someone who went through a BK in 2012 after losing my job unexpectedly (and a month before the birth of my second child), I would advise you to check into getting a Capital One card. Doesn't matter which one. They put me in a Quicksilver right out of the gate and that card opened things back up for me in a big way. I've been quite loyal to them ever since and they have rewarded in-kind. You can check for pre-approval before you ever let them do a hard hit on your credit here: https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/prequalify/
Good luck to you! It's a long road, but it's manageable.

I waited about 5-6 months. I would definitely NOT apply for anything needing a HP, but checking no-impact pre-approval offers is not a bad way to dip your toe back in without doing damage. Just be smart and, most importantly, be patient.

OP seems to already have current cards in siggy that would be just fine for a successful rebuild.
