I went from a $500 cap1 Secured card to a 10k Amex card. I feel like it's a mistake and I fell through some cracks. Lol. I don't want to trigger aything with that x3 thing so I'm hiding out until maybe my other cards catch up a bit.
@Anonymous, I think I'd ask for 20k in your situation.

Just because you can ask for 3x CLI doesn't mean you have to. ![]()

Just for DP.....
I have less for an income, a very thin credit file and low AAOA. I was initially approved for 15k on a BCP. At 61 days I requested a CLI to 40k. I did not get it all, but was instantly approved for 31.9k. Amex looks at more than your credit score and income. Sometimes it does not make any sense.
Just wanted to update the post. Today was the 180th day since my last CLI. I asked for the $27K I originally mentioned, and was approved. I should metioned that less than a month ago, I also applied for a Chase Sapphire Reserve, and was approved. For those that might wonder, I have a Freedom Unlimited with Chase for about a year with $3K credit limit. I opened a Chase savings account, and then deposited $300, so that I did not get a monthly fee from having the account. I have always read that Chase is more open to people that have accounts with them. Then once it was open for about a week, I applied for the Chase Sapphire Reserve, and got it for $18k, interestingly enough double my Amex Everyday card limit at the time.

AMEX weighs net worth more than credit score and income.
If you make $31,000 a year and have a 670 score, and $50 in your savings, one would receive a much lower CL than someone who makes $31,000 a year, has a 670 score, and inherited their grandfather's $500,000 real estate.

IMO while AMEX considers assets I don't think they count as much as you think.
