Will this make BOA think..

I've been trying to get my BOA CL up from 1k for the past year, and they wont budge.  I've had the card with perfect history for 3 years.  My question is, with my combined checking and savings account with them at 30k can I use this to motivate a CLI?  Im about to tell them to transfer my money to another bank. If they don't trust me with a higher limit, I don't trust them with my money. Should I use this threat?

Re: Will this make BOA think..

Didn't work for me when I had almost that much in my combined accounts. I did end up moving my money to another bank, mostly for high yield savings benefits and to have my business and personal checking accts in one bank for convenience. Ironically, they could have cared less about the assets I had in my bank accounts when I asked for CLI but when I later tried for CLI the rude CSR made sure to mention the "small deposits" i had been making into my checking account and the "insignicant" balance of my savings account....Hmph.

In their defense the rep that said those things to me was a total jerk, there was a longer version of this story and I later called back and complained about him for his rudeness. So...someone else may not have actually said those things. I just though it was ironic that when I mentioned the balances I had in my accounts with them hoping to use it as leverage to get a CLI they shot me down saying it didn't matter because the assets were liquid and I could withdraw them tomorrow (which I basically did after that!) and then when I tried the next time, one of the reasons was that I didn't have significant balances in those accounts. I can't win. Smiley Very Happy

Hmmm.. I wonder if that would change if the savings was a CD.

Perhaps. Though with some of these reps, I don't think they'd even know the difference. Smiley Very Happy

Chances are that person would have high scores  Smiley Very Happy

And they wouldn't be calling for a CLI. Smiley Very Happy

Do you use the card a lot? BoA likes this.

That must be the problem. It is hard not to get luv from BofA or at least I am told. Use the card a few months then ask.

Which specific card is it? Out of the 40 billion BofA cards, lol. Maybe you have one with a built-in ceiling, although I don't think BofA is as bad about this as other banks.
