Will using an Amex charge card at online casino trigger AA?

I was wondering if this would be a problem or not. Golden Nugget AC takes Amex so I'm assuming other people do it.  My card is NPSL and spending ability is in the region of $35K.... I was only going to load $1K.  I really don't like using my debit card since I keep a decent balance in there, god forbid the account gets taken over.

American Express allows the Golden Nugget to use American Express to charge for gambling it's the only way American Express would allow them to be able to take American Express so they know which means you're pretty okay to do whatever you want as long as you can pay it back

If they accepted the merchant then they have no issue for customers to use it. I wouldn't get too carried away though

You do risk drawing attention to yourself particularly if the activity involves offshore gambling.  Past experience has demonstrated to the issuers that particular behavior has elevated levels of disputes/chargeback requests and non-payments.

The customer agreement contains language like (from gold card)

. A cash advance is a charge to get cash
or cash equivalents, including travelers cheques,
gift cheques, foreign currency, money orders, casino
gaming chips, race track wagers or similar offline
and online betting transactions

So I guess in theory they could treat it like a cash advance.
