What to do now?

Hi, I am new to the community. I am currently on a loop and need some advices.

I have:

best buy credit card - CL $2k

amex delta gold - CL $1k

apple card - CL 1k

Discover it student - CL 2k

I am looking forward to a big card since I have family around US and Puerto Rico (like the chase Sapphire or amex  gold). Currently sitting on 711 on EX, 726 TU and 723 on EQ

Hi and welcome to the forums @Anonymous

Are you asking about your approval chances?

Re: What to do now?

Not only about approval chances but advices. I'm also thinking on moving my bank accounts to US, thats why I thought about aiming to Chase credit cards (I have heard before bad stories with them tho)

Re: What to do now?

I've banked with Chase for longer than 15 years, and prior to that with WaMu, so they pretty much have my entire financial life stored somewhere.

I never had any problems they didn't or couldn't resolve.

Chase is one well oiled machine. May not work for everyone, but it worked for me.  Dont let the horror stories scare you, when people are unhappy, they tend to be very vocal about it, be it bank's fault or not.

How old are your credit card accounts?

Re: What to do now?

Thank you very much!! Is good to see someone being objective. My credit age is 4 years and 2 months (if not, is between 4 years and 4 years and 6 months). I know, I am relatively starting to make credit, wish someone told me the importance on credit way before on my 25 years.

** I am an authorized user on 2 of my dad's amex cards (first gold and platinum amex). I needed a backup for a student travel back in 2012

Is that age mostly from being an AU? How old is each card?

To still have limits of $1k-$2k after 4+ years of history is, at first glance, unusual.

Re: What to do now?

AU cards are from 2011 and 2012

Best Buy card have almost 2 years old

Delta gold card is 9 months old

Apple and discover cards are the most recent ones, being approved on this month

Re: What to do now?

I think they might approve you for either one of Freedom cards, CSP might be a bit of challenge because of the $5000.00 minimum credit line, but also, you have two new cards, so Chase may not want to play right now.

Re: What to do now?

I was thinking to eventually downgrade my delta gold card to the most basic delta card, keep my apple card as my main and use the discover card to make a balance transfer from the delta card. I was considering chase due to some reviews and because their points program seems to be the best one in the market. Any suggestion on how long should I wait to apply for either of their cards? Btw, thank you very much! I am finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, LOL.

I'd wait until you have 3-4 months with a $3500 or $4000 CL card before going to CSP with its $5k minimum.

Have you tried to get a CLI on your Delta Amex? How high is your balance, if you'd need to do a BT?
