Totally a personal decision, but others have mentioned some pretty valid points.  Since it appears this was regarding your January approval, I recall a variety of members had cautioned and provided good feedback before you went for Citizens.   Strong and established profiles can land a fairly decent SL with them (Mahraja comes to mind with one of those approvals).

But, given how Citizen's UW model is plus based on the profile that you were approved for at that point in time, it may present itself a challenge for growth.  All you can do is try it out after 12+ months.

@AJC, now I feel better about my PPMC. SL was $300 and I decided to keep it, I read here that many wanted to close them after the infamous $300. I figured its Sync so it should grow with time.

Re: Would you guys close a new approved cc if giving a low limit ?

There's no way I would take the hit to my inquiries and AAoA just to throw away a card that didn't give me a limit that I felt entitled to. Two of my most lucrative cards are my and DW Cash+ cards with $500 limits. Worst-case scenario, assuming no AF, I would just SD it and wait for them to close it on their own. I do everything I can to not let emotion dictate my financial decisions.

He opened in 12/2017 I think the first increase was 4 months, then we hit it every 4 months there after. Synchs cards tend to be a little different per card in regards to CLIS as his lowes moved much faster about every 2 months, and walmart and amazon every 3-4. But YMMV

Re: Would you guys close a new approved cc if giving a low limit ?

I try to stay humble with any type of credit card approval, no matter how high or low the SCL is. My average spending on most of my cards last year were around $30-40 (partially due to also paying off balances from them). I think it all depends on how much you use the card each month, what you use them for and how you value it. So even if the next card I get is only starting me with $1K, I'll gladly take it and try to make it grow within that first year.
