So last week I sent two emails to two CEO's. The CEO of Chase Bank and the CEO of Bank of America. I admit that I didn't have any serious problem that required their attention but I was done with the front line CSR's and the credit specialists who continued to decline my request for really small CLI's. So I wrote an email to Chase CEO first outlining why in my opinion should I deserve a higher CL. Like I said in another thread, just the next day (actually almost 8 hours later) I got a call from a lady in the executive office in Illinois saying that she'd be taking care of the problem. She called the next day apologizing first because she couldn't increase the line any more .. but then I asked her to take it to a higher level .. higher than the credit department .. she did and she then gave me a call back.. they increased the line $500! Small increase .. but I guess diplomacy work.
Today.. I got a call from a vice president at Bank of America. She said the CEO forwarded my email to her and she explained to me in detail why the bank cannot approve any increase at this time beyond the increase I got yesterday .. she made good points.
But I'm really surprised CEOs read emails and forward them to the right person. Unlike other big corporations or big companies like Apple/Microsoft .. you actually get a reply!
It's hilarious how people think CEO's are these mythical creatures that are immune to our everyday trials & tribulations. PEOPLE stop watching so much TV. They are humans just like me & you - they tie their shoes the same way we do.

Yes they are human, but I am sure you understand that they have more important things to do than worry about credit limit increaes. I would guess that neither saw the email and it was someone else that saw it. There are so many Vice Presidents in banks that it means nothing; small local bank has eight at one branch.
I personally would not go so far to get an increase. Maybe if you spent millions a year on the card they would care. The average person does not so I am sure they could not care less.
Most of the time it is secretary that manages the CEO email account and forward emails to other places. I doubt CEO actually read your email.
i recently sent out my first email to a CEO, it was for a medical account though. He actually did recieve my Emails but did not handle them personally he just handed them off to his secretary and shes the one who helped me. she told me that he had just told her to look into it. i highly doubt he ever even read the emails before passing them off to her. im sure that much bigger corporate CEO's, such as the ones for these big banks, ever read emails that are sent to them, they probably have people that filter through them and handle situations that need attention. this is how the CEO of my company does it lol, he never reads his own emails no matter who they come from
This is a little different, but I did email the CEO of Bloomingdales for a GW removal. I spoke with someone in a higher level CS department that same day, but was later told that there was nothing they could do. I then sent more emails and actually got a very friendly call back from the CEO of Bloomingdales. So, some CEO's actually read their emails, even if its not important.
