X1 Card: FYI: In case you wanted to send a check..

I know the X1 Card pretty much does everything from the app. But I like having multiple ways of paying CC Bills and when the first statement came electronically, it had the address to send a check on it (standard for all CCs). So I set up one of my checking accounts to see if it could be sent electronically from there (it could not) but it did offer the option to send a check. So opted for that and figured I would try sending $10 to test it out. After almost a week of checking the app I see no mention of getting the check. Last night I got an email from X1 saying the following concerning receiving the check, and I quote:

"...This is the X1 support team. We just received a check in the mail from you, but we currently only accept payments made within the app through a connected bank account. Balance transfers are also not available yet, but coming soon! We have safely shredded your check; it will not be deposited. You can find more information on making a payment and balance transfers in the Help Center within the app. If you need additional help, please don't hesitate to reach out...."

So a DP for those of you thinking of going outside the app for payments: Don't Smiley LOL

Was the $10 taken from your checking when they sent the check (my bank does that for bill pay)?  If so, see if/when it gets put back!

I wonder if this means they won't accept a BT if it's sent by check like some CU do. 🤔

It's a well-known scam which still catches lots of people every day!    Scammers put up some blue boxes (in the US, red in the UK) and tell people to drop valuable documents in "and we will make sure that they get delivered".  Right!

They don't seem to accept checks.  Still waiting for a balance transfer check from discover to clear and it has been at least two weeks and they say it is still processing

Re: X1 Card: FYI: In case you wanted to send a check..

Ha.

When we were closing on our house ealrier this year, the originator wanted us to pay off a few lenders.  Among them was like $100 balance for the AppleCard.  We gave a check to the Title company to "mail."   I told my wife that this check would probably come back.

While I do know that one could mail a check to a lockbox address in Philly, I also know this PO Box address isn't really well published.

Three weeks later an attorney from the Title company called and said they couldn't figure where to send the check.  She said to not worry about paying the card off and for us to pick the check up.

Just wondering how they would handle this if we had a X1  card with a balance.

@vrballard Wondering if your balance transfer from X1 to Discover was successful? Still waiting on our X1 transfer to NFCU Plat, thanks

Will this change since the X1 Credit Card was acquired by Robinhood? If so, that would be awesome.
