There have been multiple threads in the last few months about issues with the X1 card from various forum members. As I noted in message 6 of this thread, while I personally don't recommend the card, I *DO* highly suggest anyone considering it to read >these thread links< I assembled in another thread.
I just do not understand some of the comments here. As with all cards, it is a YMMV situation. May work for some, not for others.
When X1 just came out, I was not interested as some of "negative" comments are true. But I decided to apply and opened a new CL of $35,000.
The main reason to open this card is that, it is a FUN card. It looks cool and feels cool. I already opened 5 personal cards and 3 business cards this year. So one more card won't hurt anything. And I'm not chasing Chase any longer. I get most of its cards and I do not even maximize the spends or bonus since I do not want any attention from Chase by having too many cards.
With no AF, about any card is good to be part of the card portfolio. I can use some offers or promotions and stock some points. Then I can optimize on some of its merchants.
X1 is part of the new trend of fin-tech offering. They compete with the traditional CC banks. We can't continue to be with the old mindset. Things change and we adapt.
It is a new tool at our service. And the large CL just looks good.
