Last month I received an X1 and I've not seen a lot of discussion on these boards about it (yes, I did a search). If anyone has had this card for a few months/year, I would appreciate any tips on best practices in managing it. In particular, any suggestions on when to ask for a CLI.
I used it last week for a business trip for the first time and I was very impressed with the speed of transaction notifications and details. I will be paying off the card as soon as my expenses are reimbursed.
Much thanks in advance!
HarleyGirlInDallas,
I have the card and there is no CLI button or mechanism to request a CLI on the app. According to app, accounts are reviewed and CLI's. I've had the card since 12/2021 and never had an increase. I guess you can request one via text.
I don't use this card a lot because of the way they handle payments made electronically, and I don't like the fact they don't accept payments in the mail. Also I'm getting better rewards on other cards.

I've only made one payment to them and it was $15 to have the card FedEx to me so that I had a tracking number. They posted the payment the same day -- before it cleared my bank. Maybe it was due to the small dollar amount.
Thanks for the CLI info.
Well... just to shake things up a bit here. I happen to like the card. I don't use it as much as I should -- but I'm a bit of an outlier - I should put this in my rotation though, it's a solid card. FWIW - I've made several payments without an issue.
The rewards are competitive too imo.
I got X1 16 months ago and been using here and there, not heavy usage but it's in my wallet! Activating the boost gives me more then 2% so I like it and no had issues. Also no CLI, but with $29.5K SL I'm not looking for more from this card.
Some card holders did get CLD because of low usage under a year. So these guys don't like to be used for credit padding.
Also X1+ travel card is coming soon with AF. Most likely gives more customer service and possible CLI option.
When I got this card they didn't even use to report to any credit bureaus and they had no authorized user option. They are improving and that is a good sign.
Compare to other cards that came out around the same time with same concept, X1 seems to be the most reliable and successful one yet.
Got the card 3 month's ago. Gave me a 8k limit. A couple days ago they sent me an email saying I'm recieving a 1k limit increase.
Spent around $900 a month, paying it off. They gave me the limit increase a couple days before my due date, $920.00
I love the ability to create vitual cards for one time use, trials, etc. The app is great. The reward boosts are cool.
Are you not happy with the CL is on your X1 @HarleyGirlInDallas ? They usually give healthy limites from the start. I'm happy with my X1, and they have weekly point boots. I've had it since July 2022 and I'm happy with my CL. I just don't use it as much so I'm waiting for my CLD haircut that some others have received.
The app states that the ability to ask for a CLI is "coming soon"™. It's been there for a while but they have apparently thought about it enough to put that message there so give it time. Card has worked flawlessly for me so far. It's not my "daily driver" but I do use it.
And that's why you have had any CLI. You don't use it. You don't need extra credit on that card.
The X1 has a lot going for it but the 0.7cpp value when redeeming for cash is a deal breaker for me.
