Welp, as the title indicates, NFCU is awesome. I have decent credit, high 600s, I'm 21 years old. I've actually had a couple car loans with NFCU including one right now for a 2013 Ford Focus. This is yet another reason they are awesome as they granted me a $23k loan at 2.79% for 72 months. Nobody else would even write the loan because at the time I had too high revolving balances on my credit cards (more on that next).
I have 3 credit cards- 1 State Farm Student Visa for $500 which I've had for 2 years, and a Best Buy Rewardzone Card (The store card) for $500 which I've had for 2 years. This past March, I applied for a Chase Freedom card- and had to get manual approval for $500. At the time, my dad's Sears store card showed up on my credit report, due to me being an authorized user, and they had recently bought a bunch of appliances and a riding mower on it. I submitted disputes with the 3 Bureaus and they removed it from my credit report, so my utilization dropped like a rock.
Anyway, $1,500 over 3 cards is not a lot of credit, so since we've had NFCU forever, and they've been good to me about my loans, I have my paycheck direct deposited into my checking (I make about 40k a year). But because of the small limits on my other cards, I was expecting to be declined, or something. That isn't what happened. I had to double check to make sure I didn't see an extra zero by accident. I was approved for the nrewards visa for $10,000 with a Prime Rate of 10.74%! I was a little bit in shock. NFCU is awesome!
Yes...they are very awesome! That's why we all love them!
Congratulations to you!
Congrats!!!!!
