You know your credit scores stink when...

You get a "pre-selected" offer for the Reflex MasterCard.

30.74% APR
$125 annual fee
AND $120/yr for monthly maintenance fees.

Yikes!

The 3 big advantages of this card are:
*use your card everywhere MasterCard is accepted
*free online account access
* monthly reporting to all 3 credit bureaus

While I may have had scores bad enough to warrant such offers, I'm happy to say they've never been so bad that I would accept.

Re: You know your credit scores stink when...

I used to get offers like this even when I had some better cards.  I used to laugh when it would happen.  Long, long ago I actually made the mistake of opening a First Premier card.  A very short time after I got the card and read the terms I realized it was a stupid mistake, so I called and closed the account and got the annual fee reversed.  I now know it would simple be better to save a bit of money if I ever tank my credit again and open a secured card.  The trick to this is not actually get yourself into a situation where you must have credit, but instead control yourself enough to use a secured card to build credit.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

I like how they usually say free online access. Don't know why but I think its hilarious. What you want us to pay every time we access our account online?

Sshhhh! Don't give them any ideas. I can see someone in a First Premier board meeting saying, "Hey, why don't we charge them $1 every time they access the online portal?"

I don't have had credit just a short thin file and I've got the offer for this card. Everytime I get a offer from these sub prime lenders goes straight to be shredded.
