I wanted to add my sister to my Zync card so she could have an emergency card if she got in a bind. Well I went to the website and clicked on link to add user. Well, it will only let me add her to my Delta card (which still has a low limit of 2k - thanks for not updating my SP AMEX ). Prior to the card being discontinued by AMEX was anyone able to add an AU to their Zync card? My CL on my Delta card isn't high enough for me to add her and my NFCU is too new. My AMEX is backdated to 1993 so she would get almost 20 years bump to her AAoA.

I think Webby added DH as an AU on her card; I believe others have as well. I suspect this is simply a result of the discontinuation of the card no longer being issued, apparently that includes additional cardmembers as well.
I guess I'll have to wait to add her to my new charge card that I get in June after refi. Just to check, they dont do a HP on the added AU's CR, correct?
My DH is an authorized user on my Zync. I added him back in June 2012, before Zync was discontinued.

AFAIK that is correct.

No they don't do a hard pull. In fact AU doesn't even need to have a Social Security Number. I added my mom who isn't a US resident just visits every now and then.
Since it has been discontinued, you can't request someone to be added as a AU. You could, however, ask for a replacement.

Sorry, but wrong. I did just add my Dad yesterday. Call the number on the backside of the card and they will do it.
And yes, no HP and no SSN needed. My dad is from Germany and only here for 3 months twice a year. No problem, you just need to "accept" the responsibility for the charges once on the fon.

Interesting. I guess you have to call them then and have a rep overide the system. Thanks for the added info!

Don´t know. I just called and told the lady I want to add my Dad from Germany and it is not possible online. And that he is from Germany and has no SSN. She asked me his name, asked me to say "I accept" after reading the liability paragraph for his charges and added him in the system. Then she told me, he is approved and we will sent the card out within 7-10 days. I can already see his card online.
Oh yes and she asked me, if I wanted to set a spending limit for his card.
All done within 5 minutes. At the end she thanked me and told me to "Welcome him to American Express" in her name.
No questions asked, no problems. My card is 2,5 months old and I did spent roughly 2k/months. My internal limit is really huge in the meantime and I PIF the day after the statement did cut. I do not know, if that helped, but it did not hurt for sure.
