you still have the effect of the inqury, and the new account that will age for 10 years now, but other then that no.
one less card that can report a balance and it didnt effect util so your good there.

+1 - It was worth doing - you've locked in your "member since" date forever. Twenty years from now the backdated amex accounts will be real helpful.
Like P- said you locked your memebership with amex already so you will be backdated when you open another account, Also since it is a charge card it won't affect your Utilization.
I am also going to close my Zync as soon as my final payment clears.
The fact that the Zync was discontinued so soon after being created makes me believe that amex found something seriously wrong with the card, Not only that but they also discontinue the packs (making it the worst rewards card from amex), They also remove the option to add an AU, and on top of that leave us stuck with a $500 limit that they will not remove, That is enough BS, If the goal is to have these members close their account then they are definitely doing a good job.
