Hi i wanted to know what is the time interval between successive applications with amex. The last time i applied was oct 13 , 2010 and was thinking of applying for the zync card tonight . Have a experian plus score of 695 . Is there a chance of getting declined because i am applying for it the second time in less than a month?
Yes, you would most likely be declined again. Normally, credit card companies keep a credit report on file for at least 30 days and if you apply again will use that same report.
Your score with EX doesn't hold any ground. AMEX uses their own system to determine your eligibility.
If you want to have an idea if you may qualify use AMEX pre-qualifier on AMEX site. I am not saying this gives you a guarantee of approval if offers you anything nor a guarantee of denial if it doesn't. Just an easier way to see if you are in the running to apply according to what they see. People on these boards have had success with and with-out pre-qualifiers from AMEX site.
Good Luck.

Yes, they can and will deny you for applying again within 30 days. This happened to me last month when I didn't take the "apply again in 30 days" text in their denial letter seriously enough. I sent in an app for a different AMEX card about 10 days later and it was "cancelled" instantly.

Hello
There is a member here, think it is mross that applied every 31 days for Zync until he was approved!!!
That pre qualify thing doesn't work at all. They look to see if you have any offers but that doesn't mean they won't approve you. I looked before I apped and got nothing. I applied and was approved just the same for a zync.
I don't know about applying multiple times, and I did have a former relationship with them. But I know the preselected offer thing means nothing.

31 days worked for me. I think its 30 days I just waited the extra day to make sure. I dont know if its I was approved because of different info on my report or they figured theyd approve me so id stop applying. Either way I was happy.
