amex backdated question

I never learned the backdated thing until I joined this community. My question is, if i don't have an amex card, will my first amex card (assuming that i app for it someday and got approved) backdate? or it only backdates from your second amex card and it backdates to the date you open your first "amex card"?

I hope I made my question clear.. kinda not sure how to ask....

Your second card will backdate to the year your first card was issued.

Your first Anex card will say 'member since 14' if you got one today.  Any subsequent cards down the road you add, even years later will also say and report as 'member since '14'.  This really helps with AAoA if you add more AE cards

Your first card with AMEX sets the year of your MSD.   Your subsequent cards will reflect that year, but the month & day of the actual opening of the CC.

My first card with AMEX was in 1998.   When I applied for the BCE on March 4th of this year, that card shows on my CRs as opening on 3/4/1998.

for the first amex card you ever get, if denied, will it be a sp?
