amex cli after no use?

A few months back I was searching the forums and found a few posts that said after activating their amex accounts they never used it and received a cli as a result. My DH just received his amex yesterday and wondering if it's worth trying. thank you

Anything is possible but I doubt you will see any CLI with no history

If you ever want to see your Amex grow, use it.  Amex does soft pulls, and does account reviews on your credit report, so if you wanted to do your own 3x CLI in the future you'd want it to show some use for best results.

It happened to my daughter ($1K to $8K with no use, but an adjustment of MSD), but I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a CLI mechanism, especially with a spendcentric lender like Amex.
