@scottwagnon wrote:lol... DI.. my cli was what you call "counter offer" or partial cli approval. i asked for a 5.4k increase. but they only approved me for 4k cli. but actually i asked for 5.4k limit, and i think the rep misunderstood me, but it was to my advantage actually because intsead of receiveing a 3.4k increase, i received a 4k increase. a 4.5k increase would have been even better though
Now that I know they will make a counter offer, I will start asking for more. I should have consulted with MYFICO before submitting the last CLI request. I probably would be at $10K by now.
bump
You know, it's all so speculative as to what triggers an FR. Some say it's only if you have charge cards, others say that all they had were revolvers. And so forth.
Nice CLI! I got one not quite a year ago, I guess, but I only doubled my CL. At least, I think so, it was a while back. I subsequently opened a Navy CC and then got another AmEx revolver. No issues, never had any.
I guess just keep doing whatever you've been doing. Don't move to an area with a high foreclosure rate, either. ![]()

(i will use several cards to make the purchase, including blue cash.)
In my opinion, you should not worry about this. The merchant has figured out the cost of accepting credit cards and worked it into their prices. I actually don't like using cash because I feel like I am subsidizing the merchant fees of the credit card users. The merchant is not eating the merchant fee. Credit cards are pervasive and the fee is passed on to the consumer.

Don't let anyone convince you that accepting cash if "free" to merchants. Accepting cash has real costs to merchants:
Most small merchants don't know how to value the cost associated with accepting cash (for example, some small business owners may value their own time at $0/hr. to go to the bank), but there is always a cost -- unless of course they are pocketing cash revenues under the table.
thank you hauling
this is a record for me. i have 12100 for retail, however 9300 major credit is a milestone for me.

requested cli today. Received 3.3k cli. New blue cash limit 9.3k.
They may have factored your new account in. I have only the Costco Trueearnings from them. The first time, I asked an increase from my inital $2k limit to $6k and got it. I think I pressed the button again about 7 months later, asked for $12k and got it, too. No idea if I would have got even more (I did not dare to ask for triple the current limit again). I'm happy that I have a card with a limit above $10k now.
i guess you could say my credit limit with centurion bank is 14,300 usd
, which is ironic because the new credit limit i requested just for my blue cash was 14.1k. so,.... in a way they did approve my request completely, even though it may have come out partial.
hilton hhonors 5.0k
blue cash 9.3k
centurion bank card total 14.3k
anyone notice a credit line increase link lately? the luv button is on my page
