Re: amex payments

AMEX told me they review all account each six months and do look at your average payment amount. This is factored in for credit limit purposes and their own internal scoring model. While you can make multiple payments per month, it is generally best to just pif once per month. YMMV of course

You are considered late if you don't pay in full before the next statement, which is usually 30 days.

The Pay By date is just a suggested date, prior to the next statement date.

You will be hit with late payment fees if you pay 45 days late, and if you pay late over 30 days you forfeit pending MR points for that statement.

Re: amex payments

How long does it take for your MR balance to update? This is my second month with amex and it is still showing "0" MR points even though I paid my last statement in full about two weeks ago. Thanks

Re: amex payments

Thanks! While I have only pushed a few grand through the card so far I have done a few of the 3X online store deals so should be racking up a solid amount of points. I am disappointed with the online airfare pricing though as I found many other websites to be significantly cheaper than AMEX for booking flights. I'm sure it depends, but even with the bonus MR points it didn't seem worthwhile to not take the cheaper airfare on a different site. YMMV
