I plan to use it for my primary card. Once I save up enough points, I plan to apply for the green so that my MRE points turn to MR points and can be of better value towards a vacation. After studying the points systems, I see that if I get the green and continue to use the Zync for the 2x points on most things, I will actually be earning a lot more than I could if I just used the green. I do not travel which is unfortunate because I feel like thats where you benefit most with the amex charge cards. I enjoy the service amex offers and since I plan on using all my points towards travel once a year than I am still getting 1% back.
ALSO, Would adding this person with a horrible credit history and a CO with amex somehow hurt my relationship with Amex?
Alas, if your friend/household member burnt Amex with Chargeofff they might be on the blacklist and Amex might not allow the person as an authorized user. How much was the CO?
Just so long as you make them an AU, but don't give them a card to use.

I don't think that's something the lender has control over. That's something you work out between you and the person you're putting as an AU... and for the OP's plan, it doesn't work at all, befause the additional cardholder is there simply to goose rewards by running their own financial life through there.
Amex may take exception to it, or they may not, since the AU is in no way, shape, form, or fashion liable for the charges. Personally I wouldn't do it, but Lambo's exposure is basically the same as Amex's: $200. *shrug* We're not talking about someone walking away from a maxxed 25K credit line.

Exactly, So I don't think they will have a problem. What worries me mostly is that I will be putting around half my income on the card and that may look bad to them. I'm not sure...
Why would that look bad to them when that's exactly what they wish every one of their customers did?
They get paid by transaction: the more you use the card, the more profitable a customer you are. It wouldn't be rational for them to take issue with it unless they felt you were somehow engaging in criminal activity... but since they see exactly where the transactions are billed to, that shouldn't present a problem.
You're worried about nothing, it's a $200 hard limit card. This is their: "well we think you're going to suck as a customer but we'll give you a chance anyway and see how you do" card (that incidently I hope to be able to get in another 7 months, I'm not disparaging you or the card, just posting the lender's perspective). The issues they have to worry about with folks on an internal 10K spending limit are absolutely not the same at your $200 limit.

Thank you for the response. Makes me feel better now. Time to use the ##$% out of this thing!

My thoughts exactly. I just got caught up basting some pork ribs... which is why I didn't post these thoughts earlier, or as eloquently as you have. Yep. That's my excuse. In summary: +1
