anyone else get nervous?

Anyone else get nervous when applying for a card? Like to me the swirling/loading screen is like the death of me. I guess it would be comparable to a pregnancy test Smiley Tongue

Like even if I'm confident I will get approved i always get an andrenline rush just filling out the app and then when I hit submit I always expect a denial. Always end up being shocked when it says approved. But I mean the 90 seconds is like the longest 90 seconds ever. I always close my eyes.

What about you all?

Re: anyone else get nervous?

I concur, its an adrenaline rush - more so with what the credit limit is going to be.  On my last app, when I received a 22k starting limit, I know that feeling must be comparable to doing heroin for the first time.  Pure speculation, but it has to be close Smiley Wink

Re: anyone else get nervous?

It's actually a thrill for me. As an avid gambler, it's the same thrill I get when I'm playing Blackjack and I double down on 11. I don't know what's going to happen but boy is it fun when the card is being turned over.

Re: anyone else get nervous?

When I applied for AMEX I closed my eyes and plugged my ears, then slowly opened my eyes to a squint so I could see if it was done...lol. Since then? Sure I get a bit nervous, but I haven't applied for a card I wanted that bad since

Re: anyone else get nervous?

YESSS!!!!!!

Fear of getting denied gets me nervous Smiley Mad , But if its an approval then theres that excitement Smiley Surprised Smiley Happy Smiley Very Happy

I really want 2 more cards (NFCU, and probably another amex OR SM), I want, not need. I periodically check the pre qual sites, fill up the applications, get nervous, and then just let it go hahaha.

I have applied for 5 Cards within 1 month I believe, and Amex ED was the only one that got denied, rest were approved. So I really have to chain myself in the garden.

Anytime someone makes a thread of their approval, it makes me wanna do it LOL..

|| Amex BCE $18,000 || QuickSilver WMC $8,500 || Freedom Visa Signature $10,000 || Discover IT $11,800 || BestBuy $2,800 || Venture Visa Signature $17,750 || NASA FCU Platinum Cash Rewards $7,000 || Amazon Store Card $20,000 || Overstock $11,500 || Lowe's $25,000 || NFCU Platinum $9,600 || Chase Marriott $10,000 || Chase FU $15,7000 || NFCU CLOC $15,000 ||

Re: anyone else get nervous?

I learned to expect denial rather than approval. That way if I do get denied, there isn't much disappointment, but if I do get approved, then "holy effing scheisse! I got approved!!!"

Re: anyone else get nervous?

YES YES YES... and the reason is that after the 60 seconds I always get the 7-10 days review message and then need a lot of patience until the systems will give me a status update. So far  I was lucky and all of these apps ended in approvals Smiley Happy  The only instant approval I ever had was  the Sallie Mae and since then I always had hopes it could happen again...but no chance !

Re: anyone else get nervous?

Nope. Got all the cards I need/want. I'd much rather get declined than approved with a high APR and a toy limit.

Re: anyone else get nervous?

I thought I was the only person! I always hesitate to hit the "Submit Application"/"Apply Now"/"Submit" button too! It's so bad that the application sometimes completely times out too! But that "Processing Your Application" screen is the most stressful screen ever! I think that each credit card application that I've done has aged me by like 5 years from the stress of doing it (but it's great to help you stay in the garden Smiley Very Happy )!
