So it's just a phone call away for the backfdate? They don't have to send you another card just becasue they updated your 'member since' online?
you call to get the backdate processed but they do send you a new card. Account number remains the same.
Cant wait to see my AAoA go up once this hits next month.. WHOO HOOO
They will backdate you and send you a card if you want it. If you look on line, it will show your backdate year. So regardless of what your card says, you will be backdated on your cc.
I was an AU for my husbands cards that were closed since 2007. They backdated me to 2003 and the accounts weren't even mine!! I was so psyched! They even welcomed me back! I just giggled like a schoolgirl. I love their customer service!
If you get 2 AMEX in the same year will they backdate to the oldest month?

I believe how it works is that you keep the same month and backdate the year. For example, if you had a card opened on 04/2010 and approved for one today, your new card's "open date" will be 09/2011. However, if you just got a card this year, i.e. 04/2011, your new card's "open date" will not backdate.
