Sorry folks, I'm not searching the previous 53,000 posts to find this. I have officially payed my 3 CC balances down to ZERO. I haven't applied for a new CC in over 5 yeasrs, I have ONE inquiry for jeep loan last summer. I've recently EO'd Cap one and was given 1000$ CLI, nice but nowhere what I expected. Therefore, the only way for me to increalse my credit utilization ration would be a new card. I was wondering what the best 'bigger' card with a generous credit limit for a new card holder. I was thinking AMEX, Barclay or BofA. I had Discover in an old BK from 05, so I assume that's a longshot. Any thoughts.......
How about the Duck card or the Beaver card?
Ron.
is that your best attempt at humor?

I don't think anybody's trying to be funny. You don't have to read through 53,000 posts, but even a small bit of research would show you that the Duck and Beaver cards (credit union cards from Oregon but available elsewhere) are real cards that generally (YMMV) give good limits.
thanks for the clarification. trust me, i do tons of research, why i'm here. guess i'm just interested in a more reputable world wide card. i'm not looking for a 5 figure limit but something with at least a thousand or two originally. i live in the midwest so i'm not aware of a 'duck' or 'beaver' cards.
If all you care about is credit limit, then American Express Blue Cash Everyday, or maybe Blue Cash Preferred, would do. Since the credit limit can triple after 2 months, and triple again 6 months after that, it can become large rather quickly assuming your income and credit profile would justify it.

Well, starting off saying that you are not going to read through the posts, then insulting a major forum member for a great suggestion, doesn't give the impression of "tons of research" You could even apologize to Ron....

+1.....
Ron gave you very good advice there.
National banks are never going to as generous as credit unions are, at least for initial CLs. If "higher" limits are what you seek, go with CUs.
If you are going to want a "reputable" national bank card, you're going to get whatever you deserve based on your credit history and income. With a BK on your CR, chances are most banks will either pass on you or issue you "starter" CLs.
