Re: capital one approve

CrapOne doesn't report your credit limit anyway, so unless you actually need the borrowing power, I'd say it's pretty much worthless.

Re: capital one approve

i doubt that you will get a CL. I have been stuck at $500 for 5 years now. They refuse to give me one.

Re: capital one approve

Question?  What is the benefit of having a card or lines of credit that only report your high limit but not your actual credit limit?  Aren't they hurting us in the long run because the fico system is assuming that our cards are maxed out?

Re: capital one approve

Bingo! Yes, if your balance is "near" (or more than 10% I guess) of the high credit limit, then yes, it hurts you. Imagine a card with a 7,000 limit, yet you only charged say, $500 CrapOne reports $500 as your "limit" and if you charge say, $400, they'll report that and your FICO score is affected. (of course, the amount of the effect depends on your other revolving debt as well)>

I got a letter in the mail telling me that I will get an automatic increase to $500 if I:

1. use the card in the first 90 days
2. Don't go over the credit limit
3. Make your first 3 monthly payments on time.

and it should show up by the 5th statement
