with a decent history you'll have no problems, but with a short history they usually want you to have some experiences managing higher limit cards. I had authorized user on another sapphire so it probably helped since I was doing most the purchases and paying 100% of it.

So i called and was denied...reason my freedom account its too new and they need to see a little more credit history with them...reconed but still no go. Should i try again?

I had a similar response the first time I called in. I'd only had Freedom for about 3 months.  I told them I wanted the CSP for an international vacation - no Forex.  They asked if I would close the Freedom.  I said no.  I was put on hold for a few minutes and then they came back with an approval.

If your credit supports it, I don't see why you can't have both.

cause they're worried about things like pyramiding debt which is adding debt on top of debt, and there are people who built up a HUGE max credit limit, then maxed it out and filed bankruptcy in the past or go to another country for 7 years to come back to a clean slate report so yea it's understandable. Chase offers tons of rewards for joining, so adding more debt on top makes it painfully risky to give a high CL from the start.

Id try to call again monday or tomorrow if they are open. They didnt say much about my 11 inqs cuz 2 are more than a year old and 3 are from them.
