I applied for the british avios and got the "you'll hear of our decision in 2 weeks" or something similar. Have I been denied?

I don't know about that card but I've got several 7-10 day messages, 3 in total, and was approved for all.
I just called chase credit analysts and they said my application has been moved to the verification team....![]()
Verification team is an approval.. You will have to call them monday and you will be approved.. Congrats.
In theory it is already approved, they will ask you a few questions such as a previous address and dob and then put you on hold then give you the offical approval

oh really?! Thanks for your response! I've always either gotten immediate denial or approval, so this is nice to know.
Not getting an instant approval isn't necessarily negative anymore. All it means is that they require a piece of information that the computer wasn't able to automatically get. This can be a verification of your address, income, identity or shifting available credit from one card to another.
I got a 7-10 message on my Citi Double Cash and freaked out because I thought I would get denied. In reality, they just wanted to know whether I wanted to shift $200 from my Simplicity to my DC or not.
Yep approved! All of my cards except first Amazon Visa went through verification including the CSP that I verified on Thursday. No worries, just answer the questions correctly and enjoy your new card!

With my United Explorer and Marriott they required further verification after the questions. I had to fax in a copy of my driver's license and a utility bill. I didn't hear anything after that until the cards showed up either in my mailbox or in my online account. YMMV.
How come chase needs to verify my identity on my application if I have the same address listed on my chase checkings and freedom account..? just curious
That's because they want to make sure that you applied the card by yourself.
Some one else could also be applied on behalf of you.
