So, today i decided to take a chance and call chase to get in increase on my chase six flags account---It was orignally opened at 500$------Its 2800 now, Ive had it for 4 years....I havent has an increase in several months....
I made sure to inform the CSR------I want to speak with someone they can talk to me about CLI--He says he would be able to help me with that----So i say i would like one but only if you DO NOT do a hard pull ----He says yes this will only be a soft pull not a hard pull, it will not affect your credit score---So hopefully he wasent lying to me....
Anyways, after all that I was denied----i asked to go up to 3,500 form 2800 maybe that was to much---but possibly the recent collection accoun that ws put on my credit file in July08---Anyways Ill see when they send me the letter...
And I really hope they didnt do a hard pull------
Every time I have talked to Chase they have told me that they do a hard pull for customer initiated CLIs.
I hope the CSR knew what he was saying
Update----So after being told that they where going to do a soft pull....
I get a alert and checked it--hard pull first usa...
I got an account Supervisor on the line today---After speaking to two CSR that hung up on me after asking to speak to manger---I got manger and asked to speak to Sup---
Anyways she confirmed to me that she would listen to the call from the agent--And said that she would have inq deleted--She also said she would send a confirmation in the mail to me.....

Wow, that's harsh. Are you sure the CSR just didn't know what she was doing? Maybe she was still in training, or new.
Regardless, good for you for calling them, and continuing to call them, to get thtat inq removed. Whether the CSR intentionally lied or just didn't know, she told you it would be a soft, so that's what it should be.
On a side note, a mortgage lender at Chase had no idea that Chase does hard pulls for CLI requests.
