chase cli

i got turned down for a cli from chase! requested a recon! my util. rates on my cc's is about 50%! should i have requested while i had my WAMU??

you should have requested a CLI after reducing your util to 9% or less.

How do you know if the OP was utilizing 9 percent of the limit?

I just had a long conversation with Chase about exactly the same thing.  I think they really wanted to give me a CLI and I appreciated it that they took the time to ask questinos and consider it carefully, although ultimately I was denied.

She told me to get my util. down to 30%, maybe 40% and try again.  It is at 60% now and she quoted that as being the problem.  I hope this helps someone else.

Are you talking about your overall util, or your util with Chase?

Overall.

My util. with Chase is probably like 90% and they still carefully considered giving me a CLI.  I told them I'd like to do balance transfers to Chase and I'd need more room to do that.  They understood and gave it a shot.  I owe a lot to many cards, though.  If I were Chase, I might not give me a CLI, either.  LOL.    Not that I'm not good for it; I most definitely am, and I said so.  But they have guidelines and I understand.
