In 2006, I applied for a Discover which I got with a $5000 CL and Chase which I got with a $300 cl! Now I have 4 other prime cards from $7900-20,000 CL, but I still have that cute Chase card. I haven't used it in years...they won't cancel it. And I won't use it. I guess I don't pose much of a risk...
Still at $300?

Yes! I've never requested a cli, but I thought I would have gotten one by now. I think it's time to cancel, don't you?
D oyu charge on it or it's SD'ed?

It's sock drawered. I didnt even activate the new card I got after the other expired.
Be careful, they might CLD this card for no activity lol
Maybe she has too much credit for her income level. Have you tried calling Chase to ask for a CLI?
It's pretty unlikely that I will ever have too much credit for my income level. I just called. The basic csr said they could close, but he wanted me to use my points. So he added 100 points so I could have 1000 which equals $10 target gift card. How sweet. Then I got transferred to the specialist. She asked me why I wanted to cancel, when I told her....nothing....she said, "ok, keep us in mind next time you want a card.". That was laughable! I didn't ask for more because if they couldn't give me more than $5000 (my lowest CL) I wasn't interested. They were nice and cordial, but clearly not that interested in my business!

So card gone?
I've been with Chase since 2008, with a card that was originally a Border's VISA and then switched to a Freedom when Chase ended their store co-brands. During that time, I've rocketed from $2500 to $4500 via auto-CLI's. (I flat refuse to authorize a hard for a CLI.
)
I use the card A LOT, impeccable history, prompt payments; they couldn't ask for more.
So now I use it for the 5% categories, and that's about it.
They can proclaim their new-found conservatism in extending credit --doesn't bother me a bit. But I can be choosy, too. ![]()
Interestingly, they gave me $20K on a new Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards VISA. Go figure. ![]()
