Re: chase really??

Yep! The low CL won't affect my utilization which is 1%. It won't affect my AAoA for 10 years, and even then, it should be minimal at most. I just made room for the USAA I'm going to app for this summer!

call Chase: 888-622-7547 (Chase Executive Ofc. in IL) and say there was some kind of bug that produced a low limit and bug must be cleared to give you the true limit you deserve Smiley Wink

Re: chase really??

Chase is subprime.  Yea, I said it.

500 limits, hard pulls for stingly CLIs thereafter, jacking and holding interest rates, the ONLY company where NO ONE can do anything about an APR.

And what's more, baiting people into worse terms by app. offers.

Freedom card:

100 CB after spending 500, APRs between 11.99-22.99

200 CB after spending 500, APRs between 15.99-22.99

300 CB after spending 500, APRs between 17.99-22.99

Good luck ever getting any of those APRs ever lowered with that bank either.  I bet the OP's daughter was hoping to keep the no-rewards "Slate" as a low interest emergency card, I'll bet they slapped on a nice 22.9% APR to that account too.

Re: chase really??

I got the Chase Freedom with $1,400. But I had been banking with them for two years.

But a Slate at $400? Don't spend it all in one place lol

I'm sorry, but receiving a low limit on a prime lender's starter card doesn't make chase "subprime". We don't know her income, employment history, etc. I agree op should recon, and I can't say often enough how pleasant my recon experience with them was, but we need to stop viewing these experiences as personal. We are not individuals to corporations, but members of a population category. Their metrics are not designed to predict individual behavior, nor is their profitability tied to individual's actions.

For every terrible experience with chase, there are equal numbers for wells Fargo, citi, b of a, etc. Just as there are stories of success with each. If you want great customer service consistently, go local or join the 1%. Otherwise, expect some degree of disconnect between your individual circumstances and the way corporations interact with you. Decide if what they are offering meets your needs, not whether you feel " insulted" or not. Then act and move on. Sorry, done ranting.

In wallet: Ink Plus 10k, AMEX TE 25k. In bag: CSP 16k, USAA WMC 15k, Hyatt 13k, United MPE 12k, AMEX HHonors 3k. In SD: Cap 1 QS 5k, Discover IT 7k. FICO 08 says my EQ is now 844, was 510 in 2010.

The APR tactics of Chase make them sub-prime.

What do people define as prime here?  Hard to get?  I define prime as companies that take care of their customers and respect their business agreement.  Companies that routinely jack the rates of perfect customers to 29% are not prime...

Credit is definitely a YMMV type thing, that's all I can say.  We've had our banking with Chase for more than two decades and they flat denied us a Chase card and told us it was a strict REQUIREMENT that we have two solid years of perfect credit before we would be considered for approval with them.

Your having only 1/3 of a year of credit experience -- and you got $500 on a Chase Freedom card, that's amazing!  You are blessed.
