When you say it had a balance of $30, do you mean a negative balance?

It will all come down to your internal score with Chase as they rely heavily on it in addition to your credit profile.  What you ought to do is go to a chase bank near you and offer to pay the $30.  Whilst there, tell the banker you are interested in a card to see if you are pre-qualified.  Apply, and if it goes into pending, they can call lending directly and vough for you.

What you should do is request your Chex Systems report, to see if that is reported, which might be an issue if you want to apply for credit or a checking account.

None has ever checked my ChexSystems report for a credit app. The only entries are from opening checking accounts.

Doesn't mean they didn't soft pull it like any other CRA Smiley Happy.  Not 100% sure, but makes sense to me.

As others have stated go and pay the $30 as it is such a trivial amount and increases your chances considerably.  I know if someone paid me back $30 I would be more than likely to lend to them in the future Smiley Happy

I also have zero soft pulls.
