circuit city store card question

Hi!

Ok I saw all the posts about the the store card etc when they announced their closing..I called a few times and was told I would get a letter, etc..Which I never did so I called again and they said it would take a few months for everything to transpire..

I know alot of people who had the store card, got a best buy store card..I already had a best buy reward zone mastercard existing..the only other Chase backed product I had was a Kohl's card.

My question is on my credit reports (just pulled to double check) the circuit city store card still shows open..No other cards have been opened..But I never received a letter stating anything, I never received another card like the best buy card or a chase backed card or anything..What can I do or should I do at this point?

my circuit city card was a store card with $1500 limit..I tried to get them to change it to a Circuit City Visa when they announced the closing so I could convert, but every rep I got said to wait for the letter..blah blah blah..

so where do I go from here if anywhere??

Try calling Chase.  They switched DHs card from a Circuit City store card to a Chase Visa.  If you give them the card number then they should be able to look it up for you (his card number stayed the same)

Now unfortunately some parts don't hold water. But the main point does, which is that that Circuit City card that you have should work at Best Buy. While you were supposed to be sent a card that you never received the number on the account apparently did not change. To add even more confusion the BB cards that they are used to seeing in the store are issued by HSBC and not Chase. I would take your Circuit City card to BB and try to make a small purchase on it. If that works pif. After the payment posts call Chase and see what can be done regarding conversion. If it doesn't work call Chase straight away and ask them where your new card is. I would not attempt to make a PC until you are sure you have a working product in your hand to convert if at all possible. I would not try to resolve this issue in a store. I foresee that ending up in a disaster.
