After adding someone to my Freedom that doesn't live with me I am afraid that it will not get reported
They disht ask for SSN or anything besides their name
Would being a joint user look better on their credit report than an AU?
Anyone else have experience adding some as joint with Chase?
Thanks again for all the help!
They will factor exactly the same way in FICO scoring. The only benefit of joint vs AU is that with a manual review, it will be considered highly as a joint account (they own and responsible for payments) compared to the AU account (don't own card, only purchasing power)
Keep in mind that asking them to add them as a joint account holder means a hard pull on their account and potentially another hard pull on you. So think carefully over this decision. However, if they are not added via AU, and they really need that particular card on their reports, it may be for the best.

I'm asking because I am trying to help them gain credit so they can apply for their own card/s in the next 6months to a year
Yes, regular, joint, and AU all factor equally under FICO. Regular and joint both look great on recons, because it's assumed that a.) your credit was pulled anyway and b.) you're making payments (or are least responsible for them) on the account.

Awesome, thanks for the help. I'll definitely try to get them added as a joint user, I sent a message in the secure message center asking about it
Awesome! From what I remember on the forum, they can't do it directly through secure messaging. They will send you paperwork you both have to fill out, as if it was a new CC application. Then from there they will either pull the new account holder, or both of you to ensure you both are capable of paying on the account.
I'm no expert here but I don't think you have to wait 6 months for the person to apply for credit. The card should backdate on the new person's CR the same history you have with the card. So it will look like they have had the card years as soon as it hits the CR.
