If they have such a thin file that they have no credit score, it will take 6 months for a credit score to be determined. My husband's file is like this. I added him as an AU to my Freedom and Cap1 Cash Rewards card in December and as an AU to my Discover It and Barclays this month. Checked Credit Karma a week ago and he still doesn't have a credit score.

That's weird my wife has a Credit Karma, USAA credit monitoring and Credit Sesame score and she has only had cards since feb. I added her as AU on 3 of my cards two weeks ago and they already show up on her credit report. She just came to the country in October so her file was not only thin it was literally non-existant.
