does Chase do a hard inq for an APR reduction?

When I got the Borders Visa from Chase, with a 20.99% APR, I asked if it would be possible to reduce the APR. They said to call back after 45 days and ask then.

It doesn't really matter, since I PIF, but I was wondering if they do a hard inq when asking for a reduction in APR. I know that they hard for a CLI. thanks!

I requested an APR reduction sometime between 4/15/06 and 5/14/06.  I checked my old credit reports, and there weren't any Chase inquiries noted for that time period.  All I can say is that when I requested my APR reduction, no hard inqs were made.

nope - i've received two in 3 years and never a hard for apr reduction. good luck!

Thanks to both of you! I think I will continue amazing them with my wonderfulness for another 3 weeks and then give them a call.
