experian score help

hello myfico friends! first of, i want to thank you all of you and this forum for educating me regarding my credit profile, i have learned so much in the last 2 months. without you, i wouldnt be where i am with my credit scores now (was mid 500s, now approaching mid 600s).

My question for today is regarding my and my girl's  experian scores. we recently applied for Amex Zync, i got approved (score was not provided) and she got denied (627 fico provided by Amex). we both are enrolled in credit sesame and experian monitoring service, both our scores there are 610 (mine) 609(hers). so if hers and my fako scores are closely related, shouldnt our fico be the same as well? if so, my exp fico should be around range of 625-630, right?

i am gardening for now and wanting to app for a mortgage by march next year, and middle score is imprtant to me. experian seems to be my middle score for the last 2 years when i started pulling my CRs quarterly (via LO, my friend) i was going to ask him to pull it for me again but dont want to risk the inquiry.

Any opinion is appreiciated!!!

Re: experian score help

Hi there!  FAKOs generally do not give you any indication of what your real score might be.  Instead of comparing scores, take your credit reports and do a side-by-side comparison.  If your utility, revolving accounts, AAoA, baddies, etc are about the same, then you might have similar scores.  I was under the impression that AMEX mails you your EX score with an approval even with the Zync.  Did you check your approval paperwork yet?

IMO, the FAKO scores you have could be way higher, way lower, or on par with FICO. there's really no way of knowing unfortunately. Best advice would be call AMEX and see if they can give you your EX FICO. Also, are you a PA resident?

Re: experian score help

ive checked the approval paperwork and fico score is no where to be found. i have more history, more ontime payments, and revolving accts than hers (shes actually an AU on my Amex, and two captial ones), however, my collections and charge offs amount is alot higher than hers, but theyre all older than hers as well. im in texas. ive called amex and asked but they coundt give it to me, im even thinking about apping for another amex to get the free exp score since its a soft pull for amex member, but didnt want to push it. should i have my friend LO run it for me? you guys think its worth it?

Re: experian score help

Try calling Amex and just asking for your EX Fico score. I was approved for a Zync last month. Someone on the forums wanted to know what my score was at approval, so I just called Amex and they told me in a few minutes no problem.
