My Quicksilver was the first card i got after getting into some credit trouble in 2013. I was grateful they approved me for 3000 in April of last year and now im at 3800 after i requested a CLI and them my steps increase in Nov. I pay most of my bills on the card and my daughter tuition. I pay the card off in full by making multiple payment but sometimes it reports over the 30% which is dragging down my credit score. I have a AMex BCE with a 2000 limit and im hoping to get the 3x cli in the 61 days and possibly making my amex my main card. im not happy about missing out on the difference of the .5% cash back i would get with my quick silver. I was thinking about applying for a venture and then combining the two cards but that will take too long. Any ideas on what i can do? i dont want to have a balance on both cards.

what are your 3B scores? https://www.creditchecktotal.com/ $ 1 trial and then cancel. if you go to the cap1 do you show a pre-qual? try not to blind app esp when cap1 is a solid pre-qual

now my score is down to 700. i guess i have the answer to my own question. either way i have to wait it out for my Amex to increase or hope once Cap 1 sees my Amex reporting that they will give me at nice increase. I figure i need atleast 6500+ for it not to drop my credit score. what are the chances that Cap1 at my second step will increase that much ?

the pre-qual will pull from the last ar, when did you freeze it? should not matter anyway. get the cct and post it, take 'think' out of the equation

Just FYI when I had my own reports on ice I was unable to use Credit Karma, so it's possible CCT might be the same. Also, I've read of other people not being able to get a prequal offer with Capital One with frozen reports as well.
In any case, it will be easier to move forward without all reports being on ice, especially since you'll need to unfreeze at least a couple for a Capital One approval anyway (all three for the best chance at an instant approval). Note that it's against the TOS of myFICO to discuss selectively freezing specific bureaus to force a lender to use an alternate, so I'll just leave it at that.
Cap One won't consider giving you an increase until April. Then it's going to be user initiated. I highly doubt you will go from $3800 to $6500, and what are you talking about you need that high of a credit line to not drop your scores? That makes absolutely no sense.

utilization. i explained that since my credit line is so low even if i pay in full in multiple payments some times it will report over my 30% which is causing my score to drop. and i know this will be the next question no i can not pay it down to the 30% before it reprots to the credit agencies

3000 is really not that low IMO. If you are paying in full by closing date, it should not report 30% utilization unless you are carrying a balance on other cards. I guess I am not really understanding.
