so a few years back when i was off my meds i travelled to california and tried to find work there but had no luck. i ended up homeless and met a girl and moved in with her for a month. well she got a chase offer in the mail saying a resident could get 100$ for opening a new account and she let me use it. Well she ended up going back to wisconson after her sister got in a wreck. and i ended up overdrafting some money to help pay for a ticket back to oklahoma. my account was like negative 200$ when i last checked back in 2012. im thinking of paying it off and making regular deposit. but only because i want to apply for a chase business card later on after i get a business established (you can never have too many options). you think i will be denied based on the fact that i had a negative checking account for so long. or would making regular deposits remedy that. also does chase charge interest on negative accounts? i've literally forgot about it. well i would say its been real far in the back of my mind. i want to pay it off anyways cause i dont want it going to collections. im way more responsible with my money now.
great chase charges 15$ for every 5 days you are negative. so 3$ a day. that means by now i owe 5000$. you may be wondering why i didn't pay it before. but i've been homeless off and on and in and out of the hospital. i guess ill call tomorrow to verify it. i guess ill start working on paying it down as i dont want it to go to collections. maybe i could be lucky and they close out the account after a while. who knows.
Good luck!
If ur account been negative since 2012 chances r account is already closed and it's been reported to check system. Check system will prevent u from opening any new bank account
well its not on my report and i've had plenty of bank accounts since then. So maybe its still open i dont know. im gonna go in monday to the branch near me and see how much i owe. the account is supposed to close 60 days after being negative. it would suck if its still open. maybe they just never had it put on my report.

Suprising if they didn't send u to check system. Your still able to open account so something happened
i read on some other sites that if the amount is not substantial they may not send it to collections. on an answer at yahoo answers one guy said his account was negative for 60 days and he was also able to open checking accounts. anyways ill find out monday.
so apparently they have no record of my account ever existing. i think she said there is no record of the account being closed which i interpret as they have no record of my account existing. if my account was still open she would have been able to bring it up i beleive. i just got approved for a chase freedom unlimited card with a 700$ limit. and i called in to get a code to register my device. after getting the code i asked her to check how much i owe on my checking account and the lady said she has no record of my checking account being closed or existing.
