score isn't everything as I'm sure you know. Your entitled to your own opinion of course but the fact of the matter is, With everything that's been going on with synchrony lately that asking for an increase right off the bat might not be a good idea. There has also been quite a few people denied in the 630's that I have seen over the few years I have been on the forums. I'm just simply speaking what I have seen in the past.
Agreed, it's not all about the score. One should also keep in mind that those who open too many Synchrony accounts over a short period of time are also subject to adverse action. However, I believe if you have credit limits under a few thousand and don't try to open up too many accounts over a short period of time, I don't think a financial review or closure will happen. My point though, is that Synchrony isn't American Express, Citi, Discover, etc. I think one can easily get a credit line increase on a Synchrony card with a 630-640 credit score.
