getting the itch to app for NFCU navcheck, autoloan and credit card

I was recently accepted into the NFCU family earlier this week in which they pulled EQ for membership credit check. I did not apply for an auto loan or a credit card because I wanted to bring my utilization down but now I'm getting that burning desire to just do it. I've paid quite a few of my cards down to 0 but it hasn't shown on my credit score yet (which is at 650 blah, util. was at 88%). Will NFCU use the same EQ pull for to approve/deny the loan/overdraft/credit card applications or will they HP again? Advice needed?  THANKS IN ADVANCE!

CUs use same pull for 30-90 days depending on who they are.

NO.

Navy pulls a new Credit Pull for EACH product that you apply for.

Credit Card and NavCheck operate in different departments also.

How much debt are we talking about?

if you currently have small limits, like under $2k and that represents your 80% util I would say apply for the credit card now.... if you have high limits like $10-$15k and you are at 80% util. I would wait for the payments and reduced util. to update.

I'm teeter tottering right now, lol. I have the nice jht2 talking in one ear and the evil jht2 talking in the other.  If they can do a joint app on the navcheck amd cc I would so do it in a heart beat.

you can do joint on both if you wish. (joint needs to be a current member too and you need member number)

I'm usually good at my predications. I say you get $10-$15k cc limit with your 650 score!

My total credit is at $8100 and I was at $7200. I recently brought it down to $3600. Making my current util @ 44%. I use manilla to keep track of my balances and it has updated the available credit I'm able to use but not the new statement balance.

how many cards did you pay off?

they are still doing the 2.9% BT for another week and half so I would actually say apply now and BT the remaining 44% balance on whatever card UNLESS it's already 0% then I would say go ahead and wait for the new Util. to report.
