@Anonymous wrote:Thanks for all the replies. So basically as I understand it, the dispute being for payment history basically now has bumped my score somewhat artificially, and in the interim my CL was increased a ton. Should I expect the reverse if/when the 'disputes info' bit drops off? And, is that removal automatic? It's now been since August since this started.
Do you mean, if the fact you disputed it will erase?

Only time will tell exactly what happens when the dispute process is over.
Be sure and let us know.
Sorry, what I mean is: now that I've been given this CL increase, will that end up being decreased automatically also if the 'customer disputes info' note drops off the report, causing presumably a score drop (since its presence is artificailly inflating the score)?
Well, the dispute was 'resolved' in September. What else should/will happen with a dispute?

Heck no. Only will they Decrease your limit if they see a MASSIVE drop-off like say 700 to 530 in a short period of time and a few defaults/lates and or suddenly very high utilization several months in a row.
I have a charged off business credit card with Cap1 that is unpaid 4 years old and still getting increases with my other two cap1 credit cards. I am ultimately responible for the acocunt, but will just let it pass the SOL and some of these increases have been manual review with Cap1 as well.. Go figure. Cap1 is pretty damn forgiving. I would pay it off if they would do a PFD, but they arent budging on that nor am I.. So it will remain till it falls off.
I also dispute this every month hoping they will fold.. What merit, not much, but hey I can try. If they would be willing to remove it I would pay, but at this point it would hurt me if I paid it... So won't happen unless PFD. After 7.5 years I will as it wont impact me and it is the right thing to do.

I misunderstood what you wrote. I thought the dispute was ongoing. Sorry about that.
I agree with Nixon. It looks like the CLI is permanent.
Well, I opened the dispute in August, and they gave me an update in late Sept. that said "your investigation is complete" and looks like they haven't removed any of the disputed items. How do I know if it's officially "closed" per se? It's with Transunion via their online tool. When I log in, it shows AID for Aug, Sept, and Oct on the relevant records, as well as customer disputes information.
Ah, one more thing that's confusing... The scores only jumped starting in late September, which is right around when TU told me the dispute was ended. But again, they didn't remove anything that I can tell. So weird. The last negative item was 4 years ago, and they said it's slated to drop in Nov 2016. So who knows...
