That's exactly what I do when I app for cards. You should have nothing to worry about then. But, yes, it's inconvenient.

Well it should be fine then, although it sucks that you may have a FR. I would check your credit reports to make sure something did not pop up on them by mistake, since it would be odd for Amex to randomly do something like this.

Hi
Got an email from A stating I had a 2000 limit on my charge card that started out a NFL card. For the past year I have charged between 1200 and 1900 per month. All payments on time and of course in full as required. Any ideas??
This same thing happened to me. The letter that you will receive will request financial information. You can contact AMEX to expedite the process and they will provide you with a fax number or upload website to transmit your information.
I sent my financal information coupled with investment accounts and they refused to remove the hard limit. My documented income is well over 100k. Indubitably, I am certain it is becausae my account was relatively new coupled with my utilization and the number of inquiries. I have a lot of 0% interest cards that I am taking full advantage of for the next 12 - 18 months.
Notably, the limit isn't necessariy a "hard limit". As you spend more and more on the card, the limit will increase. The limit is determined by your average spending over recent months.
You said you'd been charging 1200-1900 per month, interesting they made your limit match your highest spending. Without any new cards or app sprees it's hard to say what's triggering. Are you doing much manufactured spend / cash equivalent purchases? Did you use household income when you applied, or personal?

How many other cards do you have? What is the utilization on these cards? One of the reason that comes to my mind is that balances on other accounts increased and got Amex concerned?
