help needed-requesting CLI with lower income

How does this look to creditors? I want to request a CLI for my Amazon store card, but my income has significantly decreased since I applied and I know that creditors ask for your income when you ask for a CLI. I was honest with my income on my application, but I'm now a graduate student making half of what I used to make. I PIF and now only have one baddie that still reports (late student loan payments from more than 4 years ago which I've heard are VERY difficult to get removed).

Thanks!

Re: help needed-requesting CLI with lower income

I'd call and talk to a credit advisor, tell them your situation and that you want the CLI to help increase your credit score.  Sometimes you get a nice person who will take that into consideration and just bump you up, even just a little.

YMMV though.. I've been reading alot and seeing that happen sometimes..

GE is almost completely automated... go online and request it... it's already loaded in to the computer I feel, you get it or not... don't really think the income is going to matter very much unless you now make under 12k.

Re: help needed-requesting CLI with lower income

Thanks for the replies. I don't make under 12k, so no worries there. Is it always a soft with gemb or is there a way to tell if it's going to be a hard pull before it happens? I would just call, but I've heard that gemb is somewhat unhelpful.

Always soft online and I would do it online not through a rep.... I usually get asked how much I want when going through rep, but online you just give income and click go!! it's instant
