hey guys, I own a personal business as a sole proprietor using my own SSN, I have a few nice targeted business card offers, how would a business card under my own SSN effect my personal credit file?

if you use your ssn it should report on your credit and help/hurt you
so It would report on my personal file since I would be using my SSN even though its a "business" card under a business name?

from what i have seen on credit reports yes it will. Im not 100% sure but sense you dont have a tax ID number and you are using you SSN you are held responsible therefore it show up on your credit.
interesting, I think that might be a good thing for me, now on a side note, would I be able then to have a same card say like a amax gold business and personal?

You really want to get a EIN. I got one online for DW, who is a sole proprietor of a small baking business. See here:

That will make it easy to separate personal credit and business credit file. Also, remember that Cap One reports business cards on your personal file.
Good luck!

Depends on what bank it is - Chase business cards don't report to your personal file - at least not positively (i.e. they may report if you have lates or COs but I wouldn't know). I received an HP when I applied for the Bold but it doesn't show up as a TL on my CR.
