how many is too many inquiries?

How many is too many inquiries? I have 2 on EX / 11 on TU and 33 or 35 on EX. About 15 of them will be 1 year old in March.

How many is too many inquires for EX? Looks like every one pulls EX and raking up the number of Inq's.

I think they should have a seperate standard for EX inquires. 3 Inq  = 1 Ding

Re: how many is too many inquiries?

It's amazing how many inquiries you can end with on Experian if you're not careful!  They have the most with me also.  EQ is in 2nd place with inquiries and TU is dead last by a long shot!

Re: how many is too many inquiries?

Hi Brammy, I know they are lot of inquiries. Some of them I applied for my business they pulled personal inquires. Last week, I have sent about 5 GW letters to see if they would remove the inquiries. About 15 of the inq would be 12 months by Jan and hopefully that should help the score to gain.

At this point, tretty much I have every thing else including my car loan. The only card I need is Amex Biz Card. I'll wait for the Delta / Oasis to come and they apply for the BizCard. This has been a great experience for me.

That is it, after that next 6 months focus on improving the scores and keep things clean remove some of the old lates and get ready for buying a house in Spring. Also I must start focusing on improving my business by getting more projects and increase the revenues. I have been putting it off because I wanted to my personal and business credit to establish and improve. As  that is done, yep now full focus to expanding business.

Re: how many is too many inquiries?

Hi Brammy, how is Amex with GW to remove inquires? Do you think it is worth asking them? I have sent letters to most of them except Amex. Exp has been the toughest CRA to get any thing removed or deleted.

Don;t even ask them.  Remember, tese are the people who want to see your tax returns if they think you can't handle your debt.  Wouldn't want to think about what types of alarm bells asking them to removelegiimate inqs might set off.  JMHO.

Re: how many is too many inquiries?

Hi Jaybee, to be honest I have no idea. I am sure there is some effect on my scores.

But I have been adding new accounts and getting the baddies removed. I have no idea where I lost or where I gained the points in the process. I have added 14 new accounts in the last 1 year. I have paid off some of the CO's and got lot of negative info removed. I have no idea what happend when.

Right now my EX is 647 / TU 670 / EQ 660. I have only 2 Inq on EQ and 11 on TU. So I am not sure 35 Inq's had that bad effect on my scores comparing to others.

Next scores,  I am planning on pulling my FICO at the end of December so I can get a fresh start for the 2008.

Re: how many is too many inquiries?

Hi Brammy, I'll take your advice and stay from Amex. I wanted a card just to feel that I am not left out with out it. But now I got it, I should keep them and focus on my business and other cards. I am sure BOA is going to be very generous once they start giving CLI. I have couple cards from CU's and I am sure they would be good too. I also PIF every month so it does not matter having large CLI makes any difference. I'll definitely stay away from Amex about GW's. Thanks for warning me.
