how old you have to become AU

How old do you have to become an AU on parents account? My twins are 13 and I am wondering if we can add them as AU to my accounts now and start building their credit report.

I know by law CR can't keep file on someone less than 16 yrs old, so you can still add them as an AU but it won't show up on their CR until they're 16.

I was just looking at the Amex SPG application via SPG's site.  When you are completing the applicaiton, it asks you whether you want to add any additional cardmembers and specifies that they must be at least 15 years of age.

Have never paid attention to age requirements.Good thing my daughter turns 15 in a few weeks.She's AU on several.Was never asked anything but her name on my cards.
